Oh, what a day. Jen and I decided to take our kids to this museum in Monteplier, ID today. It was a gorgeous drive through the canyon to Bear Lake then to the West. It was beautiful and quite cold. Perfect Jun-uary weather. We actually saw snow on the ground up in the mountains.
We had a lovely picnic (okay, nothing lovely about freezing your gizzards, but my lunch was good). Then, we went in to the museum. They have a local museum in the basement with artifacts from the Monteplier area. The lady working in there was very good with the kids, letting them touch stuff and showing them how the phonograph worked. The tour was a lot of fun. They took us around as if we were getting ready to hit the trail and then on the trail.
I would highly recommend visiting if you are ever in southern Idaho.
